YOGA IS THE UNION OF BODY, MIND AND BREATH
Hatha Yoga is and ancient system of self-improvement
that has been around for over 3000 years. It is a holistic form of exercise and
mental discipline the restores health and peace of mind. It is unlike any other
type of exercise in that it involves the whole person, body, mind, and spirit.
Regular practice of Hatha Yoga enhances all aspects of one's life. Hatha Yoga
tones the internal organs, increases self-confidence, develops balance and
coordination, corrects bad postural habits and misalignments in the body,
increases lung capacity, and enables one to breathe more fully.
Hatha
Yoga also teaches one to recognize tension in the body. The meditation,
relaxation, and breathing techniques enable one to release hidden tension and to
open up tight areas, whether it be tight shoulders, hips, or neck. We all have a
tendency to grip certain parts of our body when we are confronted with stressful
situations. Some people habitually clench their their teeth causing headaches,
stiff necks, even sinus problems. Through the regular practice of yoga one can
learn how to breathe and relax the muscles during a stressful situation and
eventually eliminate the negative response of clenching.
The yoga postures stretch out the chronically tight
areas and restore proper blood flow to the muscles. The stretching increases
circulation and nourishes the muscles.
Hatha Yoga is the practice of various postures and
movements called asanas in Sanskrit.
The beginner student will first build up strength and
stamina with standing asanas such as Virabhadrasana or Warrior pose.
The medical community is discovering the many benefits
of Hatha Yoga. Some doctors now prescribe a regime of yoga for patients with
various diseases.
The
relaxation and breathing techniques have proven effective in lowering high blood
pressure, reducing cholesterol, eliminating migraine headaches, and relieving
stress-related symptoms. The asana practice effectively reduces symptoms of
arthritis, asthma, backaches, constipation, diabetes, endometriosis, menopause,
multiple sclerosis, sciatica, varicose veins, and many other chronic illnesses.
Improve yourself and improve the world around you.

Olga says...
Yoga changed my life, especially my attitude went from
negative to a more complete sense of well-being. Yogasana with it's breathing
techniques connected my mind and body...integrated and harmonized the two.
Asanas released the mental tensions by dealing with them on the physical
level...the result was my body became full of vitality and strength, my mind
became light, creative, joyful, and balanced.
"The key is to practice regularly, be patient, accept yourself, love
yourself, and thoroughly enjoy practicing yoga".
"I thank God everyday for allowing
me to share the gift of Yoga"
